Helen

Got a call a little after 9 o'clock last night from Helen. She's been in the hospital for the last 9 days. She sat on the side of her bed to put her red boots on and came to on the floor. Doesn't remember falling and had no idea how long she was out. She couldn't get up and said she ended up scooting on her bottom out of the bedroom, down the hall and through the livingroom to her big chair and was able to pull herself up on it. She sat in it until she felt okay and then went outside for a cigarette. Said she went back in and back to bed and slept for several hours. When her daughter came by later that evening she told her what had happened and they went to the hospital. She said they ran many test including x-rays and a MRI. They put in a pace maker and found brain cancer. She had a cancerous kidney removed this summer. She starts radiation on Tuesday. She is scheduled for 3 treatments now. I guess they'll check it out and see if it's working and if she needs more. Bless her heart, she's 82...and like she said, it sure would be easier to just go to sleep and not wake up. I'm going to try to make a one day trip down and back. I need to see her.
