Last week in the aftermath of the stormy rains from Ida a huge Spanish moss draped limb came crashing down from one of the "old grove" pecan trees in the back yard. Fortunately, even though the tree is right next to the shed, the limb fell away from it, but hung up in the dogwoods bordering the area back there way up off the ground!
Yesterday one of the fellows from work brought one of his workmen and a front end loader and after a couple of mishaps (a chunk of it fell on his shoulder, skinned it up pretty badly) they were able to get the majority of it down, cut up and hauled out to the road...took several loads in the front end loader. There is still a very large piece hung up there, but it's wedged quite securely and isn't threating any of the area.
Thank goodness for the kindness of friends!
